Our Story
The Story of Divinitus
The name Divinitus is a Latin word meaning “divinely,” “from heaven,” or “by divine influence/inspiration.”
We chose this name because we believe in the power of divine inspiration, and we hope to inspire one another on this journey of faith.
Bridging the "Missing Gap"
There are many groups and initiatives for youth and older generations, and those aged 25 to 40 can sometimes feel as though they are drifting between stages, without a strong sense of community or belonging.
With the blessing and support of St Alban’s South Norwood and St Michael’s Croydon, we created Divinitus to bridge this gap.
If this feels like something you’ve been looking for, we would love for you to become part of our Divinitus family. While we particularly focus on this age group, we want to be clear:

We believe that faith is best lived out loud and in the company of others.
Walking alongside one another offers a kind of support that is especially meaningful when navigating something as personal and important as faith. Believing is the act of faith and we help and support each other on this journey.
- Monthly Gatherings: We come together to reflect on the Word of God, sharing insights in a relaxed and welcoming setting, over drinks and nibbles.
- Specialized Groups: We host separate groups for men and women, providing a safe and comfortable space to share experiences and support one another.
- Life Together: Our community extends beyond the meeting room. We organise pilgrimages, retreats, and a variety of events that help us build a shared life centred on faith, friendship, and genuine connection.
Our Heart for Giving
We are excited to share the life of faith and to support one another every step of the way. We are also deeply grateful for the churches that gather the faithful and bring the Word to life, and we are proud to be able to support them.
As a charity, our aim is not only to promote faith, but also to support our churches in their mission.
- Supporting Churches: It is part of our charitable mission to support the Church financially, which is why a portion of the funds we raise is shared with the churches that kindly invite us or host our events.
We also hope that our presence will help these churches to grow and flourish, by raising their profile and encouraging people of all ages to become part of parish life.
It is important to us that people remain committed to their own churches, which is why we encourage everyone to attend Mass and to support their own church. For this reason, we bring our gatherings into different parishes, rather than remaining in one place.
- Funding: We operate solely on the donations we receive. These funds go directly toward our event costs or are donated back to the churches that graciously host us.
- Volunteer-Led: We do not pay salaries. Our team is driven entirely by a belief in our mission and the desire to bring people together.
